Sprucing up a Windowfurniture-workshop - Decorations
Sprucing up a Window We have a really big bay window that is curved. On the inside there are window ledges. I started looking at flea markets and garage sales for really interesting bottles. I was looking for different shaped bottles, different textured, different colored ones and just bottles that you don't normally see everyday. They needed to be fairly small because the ledge isn't all that big. They could be a decent height though. I found some of the coolest bottles. There is one that is a trianle shaped. The sun comes into that window a great deal so it makes for some interesting colors and angles in that room. All the bottles I found were really inexpensive and it was a great way to kind of spice up the room a little bit.
Cute idea!! Inexpensive too. I have a bay window in my master bedroom but unfortunately that is the only place where we had room for a dresser. I've seen some great bay windows where they had a bench built right beneath the window and it was a storage space, with cushions on top for seating.
I can remember my grandmother having old bottles like you have described. God only knows where they would be now. I bet you could pick these bottles up for like 25 cents or 50 cents at the garage sales and flea markets. I like things that are kind of different too. So I would probably like this bottle idea only I probably need a place to put them first. I like the fact that you put them in a window for the sun to hit them throughout the day. What an interesting way to add color to a room that might not have much color.
That is a great thing to do! My parents have a bay window in their downstairs bathroom and Mom did something similar to what you've done. She also put dishes of shells out.
