Dresser drawer slides

- Furniture Repair

Dresser drawer slides

I sure could use a hand on this project. I am trying to repair a large dresser drawer unit for a client who's drawer slides have failed.the slides themselves are ball bearing style but most unusual in design. They are mounted on the side of the drawers in a 5/8 inch wide slot that has been dadoed into the side of the drawer. the slides themselves are 18 inches long, almost 5/8 inch tall and close to 1/2 inch wide. Using an alternative side mounted slide is problematic because there is only an 1/8 inch of clearance between the sides of the drawer and the dresser. Using bottom mounted slides are problematic as well so my question for help here is; is anyone familiar with these type of ball bearing style drawer slides and are the still available for purchase? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Van Dykes Restorers in South Dakota carries a nice selection of drawer slides. You can visit their website or call them and they will send you a catalog: 1.800.558.1234 Good company to deal with, I've used them for years.

Thank author of this post/comment"Parts vs skill"

Finding the needed parts is one thing... developing the skill to make the repair without it looking like I used an ax is something else entirely.
