'How much furniture do you have in your living room?'

I have been in people's house that their living room is so crowded with furniture and then I have been in other house that there is no place to sit that the floor is the only option. In my living room we can sit 6 people comfortably. Should I have more seating for people? I know that the size of the living room has a great deal to do with how much furniture you can put in there but I also think you have to use the space you have wisely. I don't want to over crowd my living room but I do want people to be comfortable when they do come over. So far it has worked out ok so I guess I have just the right amount of seating space. How much furniture do you have in your living room?

Mine is pretty spacious. I have two couches which sit on the opposite side of eachother. Then i have one matching chair on the other side as well. There's then the enterainment center with the tv/dvd player. That's pretty much it! Oh! Wait, on the sides of the main chair are side tables with lamps :)

We have a sectional that seats our family of 5 very comfortably. We also have a bench too. That's about it. Not too much furniture but I think it's just enough.

When we were house hunting we looked at this one house you literally couldn't fit even a foot stool in the living room. They had it so packed. There is no way that they couldn't run into anything when they were walking around their living room. We have enough furniture to sit 7 people if we needed to. I don't think that many people have ever been in my house at once but we have it just in case it happens. We have plenty of seating to sit the family. I like it to be comfortable with plenty of space and so that it doesn't look like it is over crowded.

We have a formal living room with a sofa and love seat that can comfortably seat five. The only other furniture is an end table, coffee table, and accent table.

A vast majority of time is spent in the living room by most families. This is the room where you get to do the "fun" things at home, like watching TV, listening to music, enjoying games and entertaining guests and friends. The basic living room furniture pieces are chairs, sofas, tables, entertainment units. In some cases, the living room is also used for accommodating overnight guests. That is why, a sofa cum bed becomes a "must have item" in your living room
