| Article: The facts of the Costa Rican made Furniture The world is going green and having a wood furniture piece does not contradict this new trend. The furniture produced in Costa Rica is made with reforested woods, that come from plantations thoroughly inspected by the Ministry of Environment of Costa Rica and duly certified for its lumbering and production process. When you think of a piece of furniture made in an overseas country you could be in front of a piece made with exploitation both of nature and human. But Costa Rican furniture is very particular. First, a lot of manufacturers are independent and therefore create their own income by producing furniture that will be exposed in a fair or in their own workshop. | I love modern furniture. They take into consideration the very limited space that most homes have. Apartments, condominiums and even townhouses have a small floor area so you need to maximize your space if you live there by choosing compact furniture. Luckily, some were even built for several purposes. These multi-purpose furniture are advisable because they come out cheaper and handy than if you will buy separate furniture for your home use. |

| For sure, wooden furniture does not mean you have to against the environment, only if you have to cut down a large section of forest to make one piece of furniture, as sometimes is done with very high quality furniture. I know that it is expensive to recycle the rest of the wood, but it should be done so that we can be saving with the resources which we have. |
| These days, it is more meaningful if we improve our house by putting great furniture. There is a variety of furniture we can purchase in online stores or any shopping centers. | It is good that the furniture from Costa Rica are made from reforested wood. At least we know that the environment, the forest is well-taken cared of by the government and the manufacturer. For the trees cut, a new one is planted. I hope other countries who's industry also include furniture making should look into this type of production process policy. The government should have a strict policy in place to avoid disasters that might arise from deforestation. |
