Wooden Letters My brother and his wife just recently had a baby and they purchased wooden letters that they painted and hung them up in the baby room with beautiful ribbon. It turned out really cute!!
A friend of mine did this and it turned out so cute. She pained the letters the same color that she had done the nursery in and then hung the letters at slightly different heights with thick ribbon to spell out her daughter's name. She hung it over the crib and it really did make the room super cute. I have also seen people that set the letters on a wooden shelf instead of hanging them.
My sister did the same thing, Red. She took all of the letters and painted them in pastel colors and leaned them up against the wall on a shelf. I really liked the way it looked.
I don't have these type of letters in a nursery/child's room but I do have them in my living room on a shelf. They spell out LIVE, LOVE, and LAUGH. It just adds a cozy feeling to the room. Maybe when my kids get older I have them pick out the letters to their names and they can then decorate the letters themselves. I do like the concept of these letters hanging from ribbon in a child's room but I just never did it for my kids, I don't know why either. I might have to look into it in the near future.
My friend did the wooden letters with thick pink ribbon. I don't think she painted the letters herself, though. I think she bought them already done. I love the look.
